Clinical Supervision

Fostering Growth and Support in Clinical Supervision

Oriana creates a space for supervisees to increase competency and clinical skills, expand self-awareness, and reduce feelings of overwhelm and isolation. Clinical supervision offers a safe environment where you can discuss your clinical work, explore concerns, and develop your skills without criticism or judgement and where there is collaboration and respect.

Oriana’s approach is person centred, trauma informed, strengths based, and non-pathological. She works through a psychodynamic lens and holds core values of being an ally, working from an anti-oppressive framework, and a commitment to ongoing learning. Oriana strives to create a supervisory environment that is supportive, transparent and collaborative. She has a strong theoretical background and extensive applied practice using evidence-based models such as Compassion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.

With respect to supervision, Oriana works from a Developmental Model whereby she understands that the needs of the Supervisee and supervisory relationship change and develop over time. Developmental thinking invites Supervisors to individualize supervision plans to increase learning opportunities for Supervisees based on clinical competency and level of independence. Oriana understands that the supervisory relationship is a complex relationship impacted strongly by issues of safety, trust, and differences. Developing a positive working relationship and fostering an atmosphere of safety and trust during supervision is paramount.

Oriana holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the CRPO (#009298) and meets the criteria to be a clinical supervisor as outlined by the CRPO.
